Human trafficking is modern-day slavery, exploiting people for labor or commercial sex through the use of force, fraud, or coercion.
The U.S. Justice Department estimated that 14,500-17,500 people are trafficked into the United States every year. Globally, there are more than 20 million human trafficking victims.
Traffickers profit roughly $150 billion a year from these activities. It should concern every person, business, and government this injustice is still happening in the 21st century.
